Release: Lot Trace View for connected coffee evidence
The new Lot Trace View helps users reconstruct the operational history around a coffee lot without changing the underlying transactions.
A trace view built from recorded operations
The Lot Trace View is designed as a read-only analytical layer over operational records.
It does not invent a separate traceability history and it does not alter receiving, stock, processing, transfer, sample, issue, or shipment transactions. Instead, it reconstructs an understandable view from the records already created by daily work.
This distinction matters. Traceability is strongest when it grows from operational truth rather than a parallel record prepared later for reporting.
What users can follow
Depending on the available records and selected scope, the view can connect events such as:
- receiving and initial lot creation;
- internal movements and warehouse context;
- processing inputs and outputs;
- split, merge, and rebag operations;
- ownership transfer;
- samples and quality events;
- issues, allocations, and shipment-related evidence.
Lots are presented as persistent business objects, while operations explain how those lots were created, changed, related, or consumed.
Lots in context
A selected lot rarely tells the complete story by itself.
The trace view can show traced lots directly connected to the selected lot and related lots that provide wider operational context. This helps a user understand not only the final lot but also the inputs, outputs, linked operations, and surrounding evidence.
The result is closer to an operational reconstruction than a static genealogy diagram.
Coverage, reconciliation, and diagnostics
A useful trace report must also show the limits of its evidence.
Coverage checks help indicate whether the available records support the visible relationships. Reconciliation and diagnostics help users investigate differences in bags, kilograms, movement history, or expected connections. These controls are important because a visually attractive graph should not hide incomplete or inconsistent records.
Traceability and EUDR readiness
The Lot Trace View can support traceability readiness and the preparation of evidence packages by connecting source, lot, processing, ownership, quality, and shipment records.
It should not be described as certified compliance. Legal and customer requirements still need to be interpreted and managed by the responsible organization. The role of coefex is to make recorded operational evidence easier to understand, reconcile, and present.
Availability
The trace capability is available as part of the relevant coefex operational scope and can be introduced during a focused implementation or pilot. Existing data quality and workflow coverage should be reviewed as part of deployment.
